What's the Story?
ANGEL CITY follows the journey of the Angel City Football Club, an expansion team of the National Women's Soccer League. Founded by Kara Nortman, Natalie Portman, and Julie Uhrman, ACFC is the largest majority-female ownership group in professional sports. This series covers their beginnings, setbacks, and achievements as they try to challenge the narrative that women's sports aren't profitable. Will this team be able to push through the league and make their name as a professional women's soccer team?
Is It Any Good?
With a mixture of high-profile athletes and charismatic celebrities, this docuseries is engaging. Angel City has an inspiring story with an honest perspective. The series strikes up a conversation that intersects the toxicity of some sports environments with the gender inequalities that come from being a woman in a male-dominated industry. Despite some colorful language, this series is suitable to watch for most viewers.
