What's the Story?
A mysterious package arrives at a machine company in CHICKEN NUGGET. Baek-joong (Ahn Jae-hong), who's deep in thought composing a song, lugs it inside of the shop. His boss's daughter, Choi Min-ah (Kim Yoo-jung), pops by with some takeout from their favorite gangjeong (chicken nugget) restaurant. Choi Min-ah steps into the mysterious machine, thinking that it offers a rejuvenation treatment, but buttons begin to whir and lights begin swirling. The next thing Baek-joong knows, Min-ah is gone, and in her place sits a single chicken nugget. Can Min-ah be restored? Where did this machine come from, anyway?
Is It Any Good?
Zany and sometimes funny, this mysterious sci-fi show from South Korea doesn't skimp on eccentricity. Like the classic British sci-fi series Doctor Who, supernatural stuff is afoot in Chicken Nugget. But this show definitely wears its emotions on its sleeve; much of the humor lies in the characters' melodramatic reactions to the condition of their beloved chicken nugget.
Some sinister undertones and the copious use of language makes this show a better choice for older teens. Fans of irrational sci-fi will appreciate this one the most.
