What's the Story?
CON POLLO: A BILINGUAL PLAYTIME ADVENTURE introduces Pollo, a friendly, outgoing chicken who wants to go to the beach (la playa), the store (la tienda), play soccer (futbol), build (construir), and more. The chicken takes readers new to Spanish vocabulary on a day of fun, teaching language along the way.
Is It Any Good?
This lively picture book by Jimmy Fallon and Jennifer Lopez with adorable illustrations is a fun introduction to Spanish words and to the idea of biliteracy. Con Pollo: A Bilingual Playtime Adventure takes the reader through lots of common phrases and activities, using both English and Spanish words. It's a great introduction to reading in two languages, giving lots of chances for adults to read aloud and for emerging readers to practice their sight words.
