About Erin Brereton

Erin’s publishing experience includes launching mary-kateandashley magazine and editing online and print publications covering topics ranging from music education to teen fashion to Beanie Babies. A graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and the Second City comedy writing program, Erin is also the author of The Real Girls' Guide to Everything and several books on Hilary Duff, tech gadgets, and other topics. As a volunteer, Erin has spent time in recent years teaching fifth and sixth graders at Chicago's KIPP Ascend Charter School and offering career training at teen and young adult training organization Jobs for Youth. Erin has also taught classes and seminars about journalism and freelance writing for Mediabistro.com and Columbia College's education program.
